When M.A. Mike Tassin started what is now the Louisiana Independent Business Association (LIBA) over a decade ago, he could never have imagined the significant role the organization would play in the Louisiana business community. Back then, Mike and a few small business owners organized to protect their businesses from outside forces that threatened to shut them down. Today, the Louisiana Independent Business Association is over a thousand members strong and growing.
One thing that does remain constant with the Louisiana Independent Business Association, is the dedication to protect the interest of small and independent businesses in Louisiana. We have never forgotten the principles by which this organization was started. We never will.
As we have grown, we have continued to provide outstanding services to small and independent businesses in the state of Louisiana. We have also added a professional support team to bring our association to the next level. The Tatman Group, LLC has been retained to handle the day-to-day management of the association. The Tatman Group specializes in association management and public and government relations. In addition to association management services, The Tatman Group will provide legislative representation to the Louisiana Independent Business Association on business issues in the Louisiana Legislature. For the first time ever, the Louisiana Independent Business Association will have a full time legislative presence at the state capitol in Baton Rouge during the legislative session.
For those of you who have been a member of the Louisiana Independent Business Association over the years, you will notice the “new look” to our newsletter. The Tatman Group has worked with Innovative Advertising, a Covington based firm to develop this new look.
We are excited about these new relationships and look forward to the benefits of having outstanding programs and professionals involved in our association.
